Realization of Prophetic Visions

Persecution
Realizing its earthly confinement, the dragon
began to persecute the woman who had given birth to the male Child This Occurred
When Satanic thinking inspired earthly rulers to persecute those persons whose
thoughts were obedient to God. First, King Herod Agrippa mistreated some of the
Christians. He even executed the Apostle James with a sword (Acts 12:3-3). This
James was the brother of John, the Apostle who received the Revelation. James
was the first Apostle to die; his brother John was the last. Persecution of the
Christians continued, as is borne out by the remainder of the book of Acts.
In the Revelation, Jesus told John that the
Christians would be having ten days of tribulation. (Rev. 2:10, 11 These were
the ten periods of Great persecution gated by the Roman Emperors, at the
Dragon's behest. The first, under Nero, began in the year 67. The tenth, under
Diocletian, began in the year 303. This last and worst persecution ended with
an almost incredible event.
