Realization of Prophetic Visions
By Philip Mark Ames
EPILOGUE
After having viewed God's
judgment of the great whore, John hears shouts of praise in heaven. All those
in the second heaven are praising God for having righteously executed judgment
upon the harlot, and for avenging the blood of His servants. Then the glorious
marriage of Jesus and his bride takes place. His bride is the spiritual New
Jerusalem, made up of all those who, like himself, will have been born again.
Having been raised up to immortality, they willingly submit themselves to him
as their leader, their head. New Jerusalem joins her husband in heavenly glory.
After that marriage, Jesus
Christ comes to defeat his remaining enemies, and to begin ruling the nations
with a staff of iron. The nineteenth chapter of the Revelation is very clear in
describing these events. Both the democratic beast and the technocratic false
prophet are captured by Jesus and thrown into the lake of fire; they are
utterly destroyed.
Then an angel comes down
from heaven, captures the dragon and binds him for a thousand years, throwing
him into the abyss and sealing it. At the end of the thousand years, Satan will
be loosed for awhile before being thrown into the lake of fire, where he joins
the beast and its false prophet in eternal destruction. (Revelation chapter 20)
So all four of these great
adversaries of God will be eliminated. And those persons worshipping them will
share their fate. Especially for those worshipping the seven-headed beast or
its image, or receiving the engraving of its name or number does God promise
severe plagues. (Rev. 14:9-11; 16:2) But for those killed for their
faithfulness to The God who created heaven and earth, there is promised
immortality and the privilege of living and ruling with Jesus Christ, the King
of kings and Lord of lords. (Rev. 2Q:4-6)
In this book, I have dealt
with only a few of the prophetic visions recorded in the Bible. But, I believe
these to be especially important for Christians to understand at this time. The
next few months and years will produce very difficult circumstances for the
whole world. Other parts of the Revelation will be undergoing fulfillment. God
willing, I may write again.
I thank God, in the name of
His Son Jesus, for His Holy Spirit which has made it possible for me to write
this little book.
May all glory and honor and
praise and thanksgiving go to God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb,
Jesus. Amen.
