Building a City
The original city of Babylon,
or Babel, was
built to prevent the scattering of people. A similar process has been
developing for many years now. Small corporations have pledged to form large
ones. Large corporations have merged with or bought others. There are now
several giant conglomerates. Capitalism is building a structural city to
protect itself from the will of the majority. The common man would like to have
a real voice in government. But that is a threat to the rich man. So, the
larger the corporation, the more lives it can control and the safer becomes the
position of the capitalist elite.
There is even a strong possibility that the
oligarchy will build a world-headquarters city in the land
of Shinar, near the Euphrates River.
But the more powerful she becomes and the more she centralizes her wealth, the
closer she will be to her fall and destruction. Her punishment is certain.
